It was a gorgeous sunrise starting at 6 am at the Oak Grove Fire station off of the 79.  There was a little construction traffic.  You must start no later than  sunrise if you are to do this in the summer.  The gnats were bothersome, so bring a spray or a mosquito net.  Bring at least 4 liters of water and hydrate well the day before, I did not and regretted it.  Sun was blazing coming down from the fire tower so unless you can summit and get back to your car by 12, you should wait until cooler temps to try this one.  Way hot at the base in Warner Springs, desert hot!  Gorgeous views though, a must do when cooler.
