considering this was my first 12am hike with a group of random people on a hike that was rated 5 hardest hike in the state, I just went with the flow lol. We all met to grab dinner at the in and out by morongo. The wind was already blowing really hard in this area. I was even more worried of the winds when we attempted to park one of our cars close to aerial tramway which we ended not parking due to no parking signs and there was this weird lady who appeared out of nowhere who clearly was intoxicated to lightly put it. And ran to the wilderness. We ended calling her “wild tweaked”. Surprisingly no zero winds in the trail head I had to take off the down Jacket I was wearing. While getting my stuff ready for some reason my 3 liter osprey hose had a leak in the mouthpiece, attempted to put a tape but it was a lost cause. I settled bringing 2 smart water and 2 Gatorade bottle and 1 small water bottle. As we hike the skyline trail all music was provided by the clubs of Palm Springs. For me one of the coolest thing about this hike was hearing what trails/peak/mountains/places everyone has been into and what other future plans everyone expecting to accomplish. I wish I remembered everything that was said. The last 2 mile was difficult, on the way up we had to give one Garmin Inreach to one of the our group members due to he was cramping really bad and he didn’t want to slow the group down. Took a good break at top but it was clear the “no sleep” was taking a major toll on everyone. 2 members of the group had to stop conquest due attitudes sickness and the cramping. 2 others venture ahead. I was with the remaining 2 Aron and geo. We decided to sleep for 30minutes, hoping this feeling of a “walking zombie” wears off. When you don’t have the fight in you. Coming up or getting down here was brutal. We met a fellow hiker who shared her trails snacks and eventually this person was the one who gave us ride back to the museum parking lot. That tram incline was brutal lol. Shout out to the bartender at the bar for the free cold coke.
