Hiked this peak solo on Memorial Day of 2020.
It was a clear day with light clouds.
Started from the normal trail head, arrived at around 8am and the trail head was half full at Elk Meadow
It snowed the day before but by the time I reached the summit area most of the snow had melted, but there was still some very slushy and meadow spots on the trail.
Despite being a bit long at 10 miles, Bergen is a perfect peak to start the challenge with for those new to altitude.
I was a bit disappointing at the views as there were only a few spots where one could see out since the summit is tree covered.
