Old trail is a bear but a nice bear. One that you might become odd couple friends with. I started up the old trail at 7am and finished down the new trail at 1pm. The new trail is longer, but easier on the knees. The old trail was loose and dusty because it hadn’t rained in a while and I was worried about sliding down. The old trail is not maintained, but due to the large number of hikers that make their way up daily, it stays pretty accessible. It becomes a little harder to follow at times at the top, but if you just keep going up, you’ll get there. All trails, existing or self-made, lead to Rome. Left a GU pack in the mailbox for weary travelers who may not have brought enough snacks. Next time, I’ll get more creative. Saw someone recently left custom mugs in there! So cool. The new trail is much prettier. Lots of green, berries, waterfalls and bridges! Loved the day!!
