To finish up our six pack of peaks challenge we chose to layer on the intensity… and backpack it!! Although it was just for one night, it was a memory worth making. We started at Tuckermans Ravine trailhead and ventured up with out enormous and heavy backpacks, until we dropped off some weight at the Hermit Lake shelter’s at 3800feet elevation. From there, we continued our hike on the same trail. Ascending the ravine was brutal, but the delicate balance of fall foliage just peaking make it so much fun to go around every new corner! The trail was pretty busy although the temperatures were low. We were blessed by a crystal clear day, which continued on as we reached the summit! We truly could not have asked for a more perfect day to complete this challenge!! The hot chili at the top was a warm welcome as temperatures were in the 20’s with windchill!  After our lunch we climbed down to our shelter and cozied in for the night. The morning after we hoped to see a moose at the lake but sadly did not, although we did have fun pumping water from the nearby stream in the peaceful mountain morning air. Truly an astoundingly beautiful mountain. Thank you for organizing this challenge, we had an amazing time on each mountain. Grateful to have these memories during this crazy year!!
