Finally got myself organized to get an overnight camping permit for Limber Pine campground and do an overnight up to San Bernardino peak. Had an easy start on Saturday and got to Limber Pine in the afternoon. Set up the tent and went to the spring to get water. I didn't realize how far it was so it felt like a long walk in my flip flops since I had taken my hiking boots off already. Plenty of water flowing. Quite late in the afternoon had a talk with a hiker heading all the way down. I checked he had food and a light as he had quite a way to go and it was getting dark. I had the campground to myself although in the morning someone else had pulled in. Limber Pine has got to be the best camping spot I have ever been to. The views and location are absolutely amazing. Had a great night and was up early to pull camp.

Had a nice final walk to the summit and was one of the first up there. It was a bit fresh but was a lovely morning. The views were great. I had a nice easy walk down and was done just after noon. Felt good to conquer this peak and do an overnight as I had tried it a couple years back but had a serious thunder storm roll in and with a new tent that I wasn't confident in I had backtracked and bailed out. This was the first of two of the original six pack that I had not been up before so it felt particularly good.
