El Cajon Peak was a grind of a hike. Almost 12 miles and over 3,600 feet in elevation gain. The climbs were steep and there was rock scrambling at the top. The hike back down was hot and getting your footing was a challenge at times. This was my 8th peak of the year. I am glad I crossed it off, but I don't think I will repeat this peak. There are definitely trails that I enjoy more than this one.
