The first of anything will always be memorable. This was my first snow hike! I've owned micro spikes for a few years but had yet to break them in until this hike.
The trail wasn't snow-covered all the way to the summit. We managed to do it without micro spikes until about two miles in. Boy, was the trail hard to find after that. The sun was out so it was a beautiful day all in all. The summit did not disappoint. We met a friendly lab and human duo. Aside from them, the trail was almost deserted that weekday we went.
I would love to summit Baden-Powell again on a non-snow day.
