Flatiron is not for the faint of heart – it’s a climb that requires the ability to recognize a sometimes hard to see trail and to scramble up rocks. I’d recommend some good hiking shoes, plenty of water, and some spare time to spend at the top. I was lucky enough to go on a weekday and it was nice to see fewer people than the normal weekend crowd. Bring plenty of water and some snacks for the top. Keep in mind that most of this hike is in the shade so dress appropriately.
