1/17/2021:

On this beautiful warm early Sunday morning, I took up the 40 switchbacks up to Mount Baden-Powell.  From the get-go, I put on my microspikes and trekking poles in hands.  I had a field day of photo taking as I hiked myself up to the Peak.  I have never seen so much snow on the trail before.  Today was my very first time hiking in snow on the trails.  I did it at a turtle pace.  There were quite a bit of run-offs where ice and snow were melted away.  I was so mesmerized of the scenic views I saw midway up to Mount Baden-Powell.  I could see the Mojave Desert from afar.  I picked the perfect day to do this hike.

I finally reached the Peak of Mount Baden-Powell.  I was a bit disappointed when I got there.  It was so calm and warm.  The American flag was there, but there was no wind for the flag to fly.  It limply laid there.  I took my photos and had a brief snack.

For what it’s worth, I was so proud of myself to do this hike by myself in the snow and ice.  My snow photos came out  beautifully.
