First peak of the 6 pack in the books! Hit the trail at 6:30a and enjoyed the beautiful sunrise. The first 2.5 miles of this hike is perfect- beautiful, flat, too easy of a hike for what is to come. Once the trail splits and you start to climb, the last 1 mile is very challenging. Not to mention you have to come back down – ouch! I give props to people who consider it easy! The weather was perfect. It was cloudy almost the whole day. The wind can get cold but layers helped. There is zero snow or ice on the trail so no need for spikes…just a few snow patches off the trail. Everyone we encountered on the trail was very nice…a lot of other 6 pack of peakers! The trail is mostly well defined, clean, and the instructions from Hiking Guy were perfect.
