Ok!! Idk what was going on with me this day!! For the first time I didn't use all trails and didn't research the trail…BIG MISTAKE! we started from the service road and after 1.5 miles I was dying. I was also under the assumption that it would be 4 miles up this way and I hadn't even reached the 2nd mile and I was ready to quit…thank God I seen a sign that said we only had about 0.6 miles to go and my whole demeanor changed. Woof!! Views are amazing up there but it was sooo cold, we cannot enjoy. I made it but definitely struggled getting up. On the way back we took the Azalea spring road back. Lots of snow, lots of plants, beautiful on the way back but definitely have to watch your step. We seen wild turkeys and their was a lot of little bugs. Not very many people were on and it was FREEZING and SUPER WINDY! Another thing I was not prepared for. Overall I would do it again but maybe not when its so cold.
