Started out late in the day as I had to drive from Sacramento. This was my first peak this year and it went up right from the start. The trail is wide with hard pack and loose gravel that was not kind to the feet but the views were so very lovely you don’t notice much. The cows and calves are a fun touch. Even if they silently judged me for my breaks on the way up. The rolling green hills at the top felt like we were in a mountain top in Europe. I was tempted more than once to break into a Julie Andrews impersonation but cow judging.  The peak has some rock climbing in parts but my trusty girl Kali pulled me through the worst of it. Great sunset view on the a way down. Passed a couple dozen groups heading up as we descended in the dark. Seems it’s a popular Wed night hang after dark with the local Russian community. They had guitars, snacks and beverages. Too bad I don’t speak Russian.
