When I say there were obstacles on the trail, they were great, lots of rocks and roots, made the single track fun but challenging to climb. The hike ended up over 14.2 miles, was surprised by the length thinking I had 12 miles coming to me. It was the hardest 7 miles up I think I've done. Can't imagine doing it in the summer. Grateful to have come across to other guys hiking the 6 pack and followed them down which passed the time. Diablo's hike is the ultimate challenge, I expect Tam will be tough because it's very long but I guess this will be the hardest I've ever done. Not much wildflower action, but the trees and pine cones (bigger than my size 10 shoes) were everywhere. Definitely the best views around, I feel lucky to have done this hike, without the 6 pack I don't think I would have!
