Mission Peak, Week 2 Peak 2

Mission Peak is not one of my favorites, so I decided to make it interesting this year. I reached the summit just in time for a spectacular sunset, then hurried down the rocky steep bits, before full dark. The last of the hike down was under a clear but moonless night. It would have been completely dark on that hillside, if it weren’t for the trail of hikers with glow sticks illuminating the path. It was a bit magical, to be honest, and I was somewhat surprised at how many hikers were headed up, while the rest of us were headed down!
