Last time I approached Woodson from the east side. This time I came from the west side and started a bit further north at the Blue Sky Ecological Preserve, adding a few very pretty miles and some elevation. It is already getting warm so good thing to get these lower elevation hikes out of the way. A good number of people on the trail on this weekday, but not a crowd. I stayed overnight nearby and did a loop at Iron Mountain next day, also a nice hike.
