Wow is all I can say. This was one mother of a hike. All the hype about this being the toughest hike in SD is true!! The trail is very steep and technical. There is very little shade. The last quarter mile or so is straight up bouldering. Then you have to do the whole hike again in reverse. It was tough! With all of that said it was a beautiful hike. Lots of flowers blooming. Bees busily collecting pollen were everywhere. They didn’t bother us though luckily. Incredible views!! So many really nice and encouraging folks on the trail and some really cute trail pups lifted my spirits. Glad to have this one done!!
