We started hiking at 7:20am and had to put on our Yaktrax right away. The trail was a combination of dirt, slush, ice, and powdered snow. What I loved though was the smell of pine for the most part of the hike.
Getting to Mount Pinos summit was easy but getting to Sawmill was difficult. Some portions of the uphill trail are still buried in snow. Once again, thanks AllTrails map. It was a challenge going uphill in snow without a trail to follow. But that added to the fun and adventure.
The weather was perfect! It was on the 50s but the sun was out. Beautiful day…perfect hike!
My pedometer recorded 9.5miles for the out and back trek.
