Well I overslept for starters. I was planning on a 3 am wake up for a 4:30 am start. However, I didn't reach Deer Springs Trailhead untill 6:30, and realistically I was thinking of doing something else. Still, I got my bad and made my way up. The first couple miles were really nice, dirt trail in the cool morning shade. I even saw some deer about three miles in. It wasn't until I got into the snow that things got sort of annoying, having to find my footing and all, still the route was carved out really well so I'll take what I can get. The summit was windy but the sky was clear and the sun was out, visibility was something to be desired though. After enjoying my fine cuisine of water and a cliff bar, I headed on back the same way I can instead of taking the left split. I didn't really book it down, there was a lot of slush, like way too much slush, and it made crossing back more than a hassle. Overall awesome hike.
