Initially intending to hike El Cajon I changed my plans at the last  minute due to a late start and time constraints and decided to head up Mt. Woodson. Due to time considerations the decision was made to hike it from the trailhead by the CalFire Station along Highway 67.  Lots of cars were parked along the road by the trailhead. The weather was sunny but not too hot and there was plenty of shade. Took it slow and reached the summit where I took photos.  After taking summit photos I headed further on the trail downhill to Potato Chip Rock. Surprisingly today, there were fewer people at Potato Chip Rock, the number of people lining to get up on the rock was few that there were no long lines. I got my photos on the rock and also took other people's photos on their behalf. Stayed at Potato Chip Rock for more than an hour watching the others do their poses on the rock. One guy even recreated the scene from The Lion King at Pride Rock where the lion cub was presented using his dog as a stand-in for the cub Simba. Finally I left, went back up to the summit and then back down the mountain to Highway 67 where my car was.
