Awesome trail! Starting at Manker Flats Trailhead we did the 3.5 ish mile trek north to the Baldy Ski hut. This section is the more tedious/boring part of the trail. It’s just a fire road. Once you reach the ski hut is when the real party begins. Immediately leaving the ski hut you climb a few hundred feet up some pretty steep hills with some lose rock just to reach the devils back bone. On the devils back bone the trail becomes a true single track hiking trail. Watch your footing because there’s lots of loose rock and some mild snow crossings. Don’t be discourage while hiking on the devils back bone you’re going to see some false peaks just keep going sooner or later you’ll finally reached Mount Baldy peak 10,067 ft in the sky! Absolutely breathtaking views!
We finished the hike down the bowl and ski hut trail total miles on my Apple Watch was 11.25.
