First peak ever

I’ve never hiked a peak before. My sister came to me in December asking if I wanted to complete this challenge with her. I thought to myself how hard can it be. This was about a 12 mile hike round trip. I thought it was 6 miles round trip. It took us 9 hours to complete. The sight at the top was breathtaking and beautiful! Totally worth it.
We arrived to the trailhead around 8:30 and the parking was already full. Even with a late start and slowness, we were able to complete the hike in full daylight.
the weather was slightly warm but windy.
I’m a total newbie and I’m not in the best shape, this peak kicked my butt! But it was totally worth it and I can’t wait to attempt the other peaks.
