Strawberry peak, for me, is just an appropriate trail to go to for Valentine’s day as I always considered this a sweet spot, literally, with a lot of ants along the trail????

Arriving at Redbox parking I noticed that the road shoulder improvement is on-going. A few cars already parked but most hikers disn’t end up going to Strawberry peak but towards Mt Wilson.

Starting early morning is always a good idea for me, as the sun is not hitting this side of the mountain until later, which is on the way back. Almost throughout the hike, we didn’t encounter any hikers until we reaches the false peak. Some patches of snow on the mountainside of the SP.

At the peak, there were about 10 people already enjoying the view. Not long enough the peak was packed of people, the most number I’d seen yet. Some were too loud and disrupting the serenity of the place that most of us would like to enjoy when at the peak. I guess due to covid that more people turn to outdoor activities but then lacking the etiquette.

On our way back, there was a family with an unleashed dog coming down Mt Lawlor. The dog was a little aggressive and ready to attack one of my friends for no reason. Fortunately nothing bad happen but the dog owner wasn’t in a hurry to retrieve his dog. His remarked was he’s not normally like that. But regardless how the dogs behaved, when outdoors, they should be leashed to avoid any unfortunate events.

Despite a little inconvenient experience, the hike still awaken my legs as always????.

We went to a burger joint to end our hike with a well deserved scrumptious meal????
