I went with a group and we started the hike a little after 6am. Before long about half my group were 2 switchbacks above the rest. Then the second half of the group was 1 switchback above me. Next thing I know, is that I no longer hear nor see my group but that's ok as I was slowly dying going up (this trail has 40 switchbacks). I took lots of breaks and breathed in the cool mountain air and watched the clouds rolling below. It took me 4 hrs to reach the summit and I'm so glad that I never gave up, shout out to the group who I kept leap frogging with who encouraged me to keep going. The views were spectacular as the clouds covered everything below us and I basked in it as the people who I came with ran down the mountain. Once I finally got back to the trailhead and my car, I went for a well deserved hamburger as I DID THAT SHIT!
