We arrived at 6:40am and parking was already a challenge. Luckily we found a close place just down the road that others passed up (I think because it was near a driveway, but we were able to fit). For parking, come very early or just be prepared for a longer hike to include the distance to your car.
The outhouse at the trailhead is convenient – it's an outhouse, so don't expect anything nice, but we were there on a VERY busy day and it stayed well-stocked with toilet paper, which was nice.
The hike and day were beautiful – sunny and low 60s with cooler breezes in the shade. I loved how many trees line this hike – there was lots of shade and the summit is nice and broad with good space for a break (rocks to sit on, trees for shade).
And of course, there are the iconic photos at the top, including the picturesque rocks that present nice, but somewhat precarious photos. We felt safe, but cautious taking seated and standing photos on the wider rocks by the edge, but some hikers were taking it a bit too far for my comfort – climbing out and hanging off rocks for a photo or doing handstands near drop-offs – for their sake I hope they got a great photo and never do it again!
Other stats:
~6 hours of move time; we took 7 hours all in for breaks and plenty of time at the top
Provisions: went through most of my 1.5 L water bladder and another electrolyte drink, and returned to the car with one full water bottle to spare.
Our mileage came in farther than we'd read for the hike at 12-13 miles.
