The gate was closed due to technical issue so instead of waiting, we parked our car at Almaden QuickSilver County Park parking lot. We hiked up Mt. Umunhum road to the trailhead which was about 2 miles. The actual miles from the trailhead to the summit and back is 7.7 miles but we ended up with 11.7 miles due to the extra hike from the Almaden QuickSilver Park parking lot…long day but it was beautiful!
