We tried to start at 7:30 at Rancho San Antonio Park but it was already full.  If your thinking of hiking from here I would shoot for 6:30 as I am guessing it fills up very early.  It does start to thin out around noon.    By noon it gets hot on parts of this trail so be prepared for that.   We ended up parking near the residential area which added 2 miles to the hike.  14.7 Miles.  Lots of wildlife including turkeys, ground squirrels, chipmunks and a rattlesnake.  None were afraid of people.  Trail is in good condition about 2/3 of the way up when it becomes narrower, rockier, and less shade.  All in all a good hike.
