We got there what we thought was early. (6 am on a Sunday) to find the parking lot full. We found one of the last spots just outside the lot and started hiking about 6:40 am. Glad we did as the trail is in the shade and in the trees in the morning. It got pretty toasty on our way down in the sun. This was our second hike and we found it a little easier than Mt. Wilson.
Tip: on your way down on a hot day stop at the spring for some ice cold mountain water. ( it’s marked on maps) You’ll be glad you did.
