The weather forecast was for sunny skies and 61 degrees. We decided to arrive to the trail head (Dipsea @ Stinson Beach) around 7am on Sunday morning so we could secure a parking spot. Thankfully there was ample parking. We also knew we had a long hike ahead and were hiking with two 8 year olds.
The hike was beautiful up the ravine even though there was less water than I had witnessed in January this year. We really enjoyed the hike up from Pantoll to the Westpoint Inn. Most of that section is exposed and it was warm in the sun for sure. The last section from Westpoint Inn up to the East Peak was very exposed but no a very steep grade. We stopped for lunch around 12pm at the visitor center and then hiked up to the summit. That was a lot of fun, scrambling over rocks and the weather was nice a the summit so we could grab some great pictures.
The way down was easy going and we made it back to our parking spot around 5pm. It was a massive day for the kids but they were really keen to do the hike and I was proud that they persisted. We had a great day and this is probably my favorite hike of the 6 this year.
