Got a late “ish” start… close to noon. The sun was directly overhead but the temps. and bugs were manageable due to the constant breeze. The initail part of the trail is in a process of replanting and new growth following what appears to be a recent fire, so no shade. Blacktop paved road all the way to the top. I enjoyed the views and some giant trees up near the top. I had a bit of a problem finding the Geodetic markers but if you get to the antenna tower and go to the end of the paved road there is a cluster of boulders to your left where you walk a bit into the wooded area and you'll find the markers.
