I started after sunrise. I remember seeing the parking lot and being happy that the trail was nearby. I remember seeing a slide area that two other hikers were trying to ascend. Thankfully a couple hiking the trail told me that the trail I wanted was a bit further up. I remember seeing yucca like plants, and rock outcroppings. The views were pleasing, and it wasn't too hot. There was a false peak that I thought was strawberry peak, but after i had passed it I could see the actual peak in the distance. There were several people at the peak because it was mid day. As I got closer to the peak I was amazed to see a woman hiking down from the peak with Grogu on her back. I laughed and snapped a picture and thought how funny it would have been to be hiking in Mandalorian armor. When I got to the peak I saw several signs with the elevation listed and log books that looked like they had been pulled from a wet dumpster. I broke out some strawberries and nuttella to celebrate and offered a strawberry to some of the hikers there but all had passed on my generosity because of their fear of getting Covid. Anyhow I returned quickly to my vehicle and found myself later with a headache as a possible result of my quick ascent and descent. Sadly on this particular summit I found some hikers friendly, and some, not so friendly. But I was happy to show my mother who had been struggling with cancer and could not even leave the house my pictures.
