Started 6:40 AM to avoid the mid day heat inbred return. The trail from the parking lot around the lake has one uphill in the way back, something to keep in mind. Otherwise the trail was semi shaded due to the early morning low sun. The trail in some sections are covered in stone steps and meandering zig zag switchbacks. The potato chip rock formation was not too crowded and I was able to get the “pic” afterward i continued on toward the summit which is reality can be any one of a number of antennas. I never did find the geodesic plate but climbed to what appeared to be the uppermost trail, an access road. On the way down my partner had the unfortunate luck of tripping on a tiny rock and fell face first. Luckily she walked away with a scraped knee and elbow. *Tip- in the way back I suggest taking the overlook side trail, it’s only 300 ft. off trail but worth the view.
