Peak #4 Mount Baldy
Let's just say this was the first hike I had every done where I was scared. I had never felt scared hiking by myself before but for some reason this hike did just that. I saw plenty of cars parked when I started my assent at 4:15am so I felt confident but then all of that went away when I saw a sign that said “never hike alone” but I always have.
When I saw the ski baskets (drawing a blank) I freaked out only because it reminded me of a movie with wolves and snow and yeah it was pretty eary. When I got closer to the hut I saw reflecting yellow eyes which could only mean a mountain lion or coyote so not sure which one that was but like they say just leave them alone.
The the sunrose and it was pretty awesome. I took the Devil's Backbone and it wasn't scary like a lot of people said it would be but it was a lot of fun. Figured out how to keep my balance.
Got to the summit and it was pretty up there. Laid down, rested and ate my lunch and then on the way back down ran into a couple of people not not a lot until I reached the ski hut. So many families and groups of people. I rolled my eyes when I saw people using the ski lift….like come on hahha
After I got down to parking I was just relieved. Tired but happy.
Summit #5 coming at you soon!
