Phantom, a rescue dog I’m training and I arrived at the Stafford Ave Staging area parking lot at 5:00am. This was the perfect time to get a parking spot there.  Within 15 minutes the parking lot was full.  I love this hike as I feel it has the best views of the South Bay than any hiking trail I’ve been on.  There were a couple of bikes and a few dogs on the trail.

It took us about an 1hr and 20 minutes to get to the top.  If you are trying to take on Mission Peak, I suggest starting at 5am to get a parking spot and to beat the heat and crowd.   Any time after that you will be trying to find a spot on Vineyard Ave.
