Logged approx 13.3 miles by our tracker. We started at 7am and made the peak by 11am with a couple breaks along the way. The lower part of this trail is the steepest (aside from the very top), so it was a tough start and a slower descent in those steeper parts. It still took us ~ 3 hours to descend.
I wore hiking pants and a sleeveless shirt, and it was the right choice. While there were some parts when I could've had shorts, other parts were cooler, and there are some narrower parts of the trail where pants help avoid small scratches.
I thought this hike was absolutely beautiful – lots of trees with good variety, more green than I expected, an interesting rocky terrain with tremendous views nearly the whole way. The top is a great 360 view.
For water, I had my 1.5L daypack bladder, 20 oz Gatorlyte, a ~20-30 oz water bottle and a 1L water bottle. I drank all but the 1L bottle.
