I took the last month or so off the challenge to do some wilderness trips, so I'm back to it with peak #2!
In all honesty, this hike encapsulates everything that I dislike about hiking – steep, hot, unshaded, crowded trails full of people bumping the latest crumby pop album as they hike through a completely homogeneous landscape that overlooks Fremont and the 680…
Everything about this trail had me wanting to turn around and call it quits, but that's one of the reasons why I signed up for this challenge in the first place – to tough out the uncomfortabililty in both the mind and body. For me, this hike was more of an exercise in willpower to stick it out, but sometimes that's all we get, and sometimes, that's what we need. In the end, I'm glad that I finished the hike, and I'm glad that this trail exists, but its not one I'm eager to get back to anytime soon.
