Peak #4. Beautiful day, great weather. (As opposed to the reports from the day before when thunderstorms threatened the area.) Another great day hiking with my 18 year old, Ethan. A lot of people on the trail but not enough to be a bother. Everyone is friendly and out on the trail for basically the same reasons: To enjoy the day, the mountain, the challenge. Wore my wind breaker much of the time only because the wind picked up a bit on top of the ridges. Not too bad, though. Careful choosing the correct trail down. We almost took the Baldy trail instead of the Devil's Backbone, which was the one we hiked up. Trails are posted but just a tip to make sure you don't mistake one for the other. A pretty fast walk back down to the ski lodge and a hotdog combo. A variety of cold beers are available as well!!
