It was very hot but we didn’t start til 11:30. About 2 miles to peak from parking lot so 4 miles round trip. The water wheel parking lot is closest to too but you need permit to park. The permit has the gate code to get in. It’s a dirt parking lot but only 1 other car was there besides us. If you take the water wheel trail it’s very pretty but you do go downhill for a bit and then come back up which gives you more overall elevation. If you take Montibello road up it’s shorter and less elevation. Trail conditions were good but the bugs were insane. Wear bug spray which we forgot. Good hike but I wasn’t feeling well because of heat so go early! Glad to get this one done!
