On the second day of our Baldy and Cucamonga double header, my friend Bob and I woke up early at the nearby Motel 6 and drove back up the hill to Icehouse Canyon.  Unfortunately, since it was Saturday, it was not erly enough.  The parking lot at the trail head was full when we got there at 6:45am, and there were cars parked along the road for at least 1/4 mike each way.  We found a parking space, walked back to the trail head. wrote out our permits, and headed up the trail.  It was another beautiful day on the mountain.  We took a break at the saddle, then continued toward the top.  At one location the trail seemed to split in two directions.  Bob took the uphill route, and I took the straight ahead route.  It appeared the way I took was not being maintained, so I headed back to the route Bob took.  He kept going and made it to the top first.  We took our photos and headed down.  I forgot to get a photo of the two of us, or of Bob alone!  At the end, we accomplished our goal of doing these two big hikes on consecutive days.
