Pops and I arrived at the Vincent Gap parking lot at 8:30am Sunday. Plenty of parking and a few hikers preparing to start their hikes. It was just a touch on the chilly side but not bad. WARNING: You need the Adventure pass for parking. When we returned to the lot later in the afternoon there were two rangers writing tickets for cars without the pass displayed. We did a lap around the lot and it seemed that most cars did NOT have a pass. Anyway…it's a steady uphill trek to the summit. The views of the Mohave desert get better as the trail goes higher. A lot of people on the trail. All nice except for the passive aggressive lady who, on our way down, complained out of the side of her mouth about us not following trail etiquette regarding who has the right of way on the trail. She complained before we even saw her and before we were able to happily give way. It seems that most of the time the hikers traveling uphill are happy to take the quick rest and let the downhill hikers pass, even if that's not the rule. Anyway….Beautiful views from the summit. 2 hours 15 minutes to reach the top. The return walk is fast and easy. Probably will be covered in snow in a few weeks so it was a perfect day to finish the challenge with the Ol' Man!!
