Nice, sunny day for 4 of us to bag this peak.  Great time of year with lots of wild flowers out and a rattlesnake, too.  Some nice butterflies as well as a hang-glider in the skies. And climbers on several of the rock outcroppings.  It all made for a great start to 4 days of hiking the Bay Area Ridge Trail, combining this peak with it here at the most northern end.

And if you are up in the area to bag this peak, let me recommend the trail that starts just across the highway from here – to Table Rock.  Stage a car back in town at the bottom of Oat Hill Mine Trail and through high past Table Rock through the Pallisades and down the Oat Hill Mine Trail for a really spectacular treat.  Its rugged and challenging but amazing view both up at the rock formations above the trail and to the valley below.  Its a full day.
