Finally got back into hiking peaks after some time off/interruptions due to the forest fires! I was curious about how Ontario was going to be, having done half of the same trail for Cucamonga a month or so earlier. It didn't disappoint! We arrived at the trailhead by 6am and caught the sunrise (beautiful) before heading up to the saddle. The trail to Ontario was completely empty – so much so that I wondered if we were going the right way (there was no one to ask!). It was so peaceful having the trail all to ourselves, and then the summit more or less to ourselves for a quick snack before heading back down. The views of Baldy were amazing – I kept stopping to look and no pictures do it justice! Would definitely recommend this peak, I'm glad I got a chance to hike it 🙂
