We took the 8:30am tram and it was a gorgeous ride up. The weather was just lovely for the hike. Our hike started at 9am at above 8,000 feet. Fifteen minutes into our hike, we could definitely feel our hearts pounding and out of breath from the effects of the attitude. We took a little break and had some cliff chewing gels to boost our energy. The hike through Round Valley Campground was pleasant and very green. The rest of the ascend was very beautiful and scenic. The last section, we had to scramble a bit to get to the sign and summit. The 360 views were STUNNING up there!!! We had our lunch and checked out the neat little emergency hut. We descended, reached the Tram station, and had a light dinner at the cafeteria before headed down in the tram to our car. The hike was 11 miles round trip. It was a wonderful experience riding the aerial tram and hiked with breathtaking views!!!
