Drove 2 hours to hike this while the kids were in school and the trail was closed. Guess I learned that i will call ahead to make sure the trails aren’t closed. Couldn’t even find another trail to hike nearby (They were all closed) so it wouldnt be a waste of time and gas. Made the 2 hour trip back home. ☹️

My friend drove 2 hours only to discover the same thing. ZERO indications on any website the trails are closed.
The Sitton Peak Trail head is Bear Canyon which is across the street right of the Candy Store. We hiked yesterday 8/31/18. Fire service stated all trails North of 74 including Santiago Peak closed until further notice but Sitton Peak is open.
