A small group of us tried to do this hike on Saturday. There was a huge group when we arrived, a crowd really, so we went for a hike elsewhere. Today, being a Monday, I had high hopes. I invited a friend and we drove out there again. We had the place to ourselves. There were no cars at all when we parked. We made it to the peak without seeing a soul and saw only one man and his dog on the way back. The weather was cool but felt very comfortable because there was no wind at all. We kept a casual but steady pace. After the second rise, or saddle, our cameras came out. First, we were catching photos of the gorgeous Manzanita in the morning sun. Then we kept our cameras out for the views. We played with making panoramic videos of the 360-degree view at the top. A truly lovely day.
