Headed out on a clear sunny day. Started the hike on a shady, gradually climbing dirt road that terminated at a ranch residence. A small sign (take this, not that) indicated that the Espinosa Trail leads to Corte Madera; took this to a wider road that I occasionally shared with all-terrain vehicles. This led to a dead end with two trails, one leading to a lake and another to the summit. Here the hike was a bit steeper but more remote and beautiful, with occasional clearings and a meandering trail to the top. The whole trail is impressively ‘maintained’ by frequent hikers that may inadvertently prevent overgrowth, with no formal signage besides cairns and primitive arrows pointing the way.
