Trail conditions were good. We got an early start to avoid the heat and crowds which proved to be a good call since both were ramping up on our descent. The way up was almost entirely straight uphill and the opposite on the return which made it a bit harder on the knees. A lot of the surrounding trails were closed, but the trail we took (Mt. Wilson Trail from Sierra Madre) was open the whole way.
