Was mentally ready for the long hike. Warm LA day, but started at 7:25am and after a few miles it's mostly shaded and you are gaining elevation, so the heat wasn't bad. Easy trail to follow. Just need to stay to right on last part of trail. Cosmic Cafe was closed, but bathrooms were open. Need to go to opposite side of Mt Wilson at Sturvant trailhead to get good pics at the viewpoint and there is a summit sign there. I felt a bit slow, but my time was better than last year. I went through 3L of water and a 32oz Gatorade, plus a bottle of electrolytes someone left on the trail for us (4 bottles on trail). My friend ran out of water and didn't want to drink the tap water at the Mt Wilson water fill station. Lots of bugs in your face on the way down, very annoying. Beautiful views along the way. People at Mt Wilson, who drove up, asking us about our hike and the route we took. Took us 3 hours to get back down. Trail conditions were good, typical areas with rocks.

Curious, how many hours did it take to make it up to the peak? I’m planning on doing this one next and I’m trying to account for the hours needed, all-in. Thank you Jeanna, congratulations!
I was a bit slow and took some standing water breaks. I also ran into a lot of people I knew and has some chats. With all that, it took us 4:20hr to summit. We spent about 1.5hrs at Wilson walking around, taking pics, eating lunch, then 3 hours to come back down with one seated rest at Orchard Camp. Have fun! Hopefully it won’t be as hot.
Wow that sounds like the way to do it! Sound like fun. It also seems like our heat wave has officially been replaced by epic hail and winds! lol. Thank you Jeanna!
