A lot of snow once you have a mile left! I did the old trail up and new trail down. We used micro spikes the entire way up jand 3/4 of the way down. You need should use poles once you pass the forest clearing for stability. The winter route to the left goes straight up a haystack and the right follows the zig zag of the summer route. There were no views at the top but it was still incredible! My camelback froze at the top, but started melting again halfway down. I’d recommend bringing a thermos as well. I can’t wait to do this again on a clear day, I’m still sore a day later but not bad for my first time.
