This was a tough hike for me. I wanted to quit especially when the trail updates were, you have 1.5 miles to the saddle and then it happened …. I felt it … the blister on my Achilles tendon; you known that spot right where the top of your hiking boot hits yep … right there. I pushed forward, took a break, put the headphones in. Arriving at the saddle I laced my boot tighter & pushed some more, legs throbbing, mind wandering & that damn blister! Pushing on taking breaks I somehow missed the hard right. I ended up at Big Horn feeling completely defeated. I didn't think I would make it over to Ontario Peak. I wanted to give up so many many times. Just when I was about to turn around I came around the last switchback & heard, “Lisa …. you made it!” You see life is like this Achilles blister popping up when you want an excuse to quit. But don't! Lace that bitch up & keep moving forward one step at a time. Take a break, put on your favorite song, whatever you do Don't You Quit!
